Andrius Mamontovas „Su bičiuliais“
Schedule
Description
Start the New Year with Friends
On January 2, Andrius Mamontovas will perform his concert “With Friends” at the Druskininkai Cultural and Congress Centre. The audience can look forward to his greatest songs and the hits he has performed on major stages this year.
“Jūreivio daina” (“Sailor’s Song”), “Marso kanjonai” (“Canyons of Mars”), “Vieną kartą Paryžiuj” (“Once in Paris”), “Saulės miestas” (“City of the Sun”), “Tavo svajonė” (“Your Dream”) and “Kitoks pasaulis” (“A Different World”) are just some of the songs featured in the evening’s programme. This time, they will take on a different atmosphere — more intimate, with a winter feel, specially suited to a concert hall.
On stage will be a four-piece lineup that has never performed together in this exact formation before: Andrius Mamontovas, his son Andrius Mamontovas Jr. on drums, Eimantas Belickas on violin and keyboards, and Tomas Andrijauskas on bass guitar. The musicians have shared the stage with Andrius for many years, while Andrius Jr. has already become a regular member of his father’s band.
“At a concert, you hear the music you love while also seeing how it comes to life on stage — how people create it right before your eyes. For me, that has always been the greatest magic,” says Andrius Mamontovas.
Andrius Mamontovas’s winter concerts in Vilnius are already becoming a year-end tradition. Last December, his concert attracted a full house at the Lithuanian State Symphony Orchestra Hall. This year, the gathering takes on special significance: it will be Andrius Mamontovas’s final concert before an extended break from performing on stage planned for next year.
